Iowa’s GOP Wants to Limit SNAP Benefits: Here's What to Know

 It was introduced in 2023 and re-introduced again in 2026. If they're sick and perverted to even think of doing this, it's not going away. #NeverForget This bill will be back until they manage to get it passed, no matter how illegal it is. Only the US Congress can change the SNAP program and they have voted against restrictions in the past. There is no consideration for digestive/health issues/needs. There is no consideration of the fact that brown rice has arsenic in it or that some people cannot eat whole wheat pasta or bread. THIRTY NINE Iowa Republicans stood behind this bill with no consideration for individual needs/diets. It's cruel; it's abuse. It's UNAmerican. It's Anti-Freedome. It's despicable and abusive. It treats the poor as if they are a different species. I know dogs that eat better than what they would be allowing the poor on House File 3's restrictions. Mark my words - THIS BILL WILL BE BACK.
