Fat accompli: Congress's weight issue - POLITICO Hypocritical people getting government money are spending it on what they have banned SNAP recipients from purchasing. I will be pointing this out every chance I get from here on out. They are hypocrites. I was told that those who voted for restrictions had sodas sitting on their desks. The battle cry is "No government money for junk food" and that should apply to everyone that collects a government check, especially those making our laws that prohibit those on SNAP from using SNAP dollars for "Junk food".  By the way, there is no legal definition for "junk food" and so they can restrict whatever they want to. Welcome to Iowa, the state that legalizes whatever residents are already doing illegally.   This is the second time this has happened - raising the speed limit because people were already going over it. The first time, it was for the interstates - people were already driving 70, 75, and 80MPH. Now it's 2 lane roads and the governor is "proud" to have signed it".
