Access to Primary Care Clinics for Patients With Chronic Pain Receiving Opioids | Health Disparities | JAMA Network Open | JAMA Network

From 2019
"A total of 40.7% of clinics were not willing to schedule an appointment for a new patient who was currently taking opioids"
So nearly 1/2 as many docs must write nearly twice as many scripts as a result? Can you imagine doctors refusing to care for diabetics or heart patients? This is discriminatory at the very least. At worst, it's torture. Doctors should not be able to refuse to treat patients for pain. WHEN DID BEING A PAIN PATIENT BECOME A CRIMINAL OFFENSE? WHEN DID IT BECOME LEGAL TO ALLOW PATIENTS TO SUFFER?
